Kids
Yoga
Through story telling, music, drawing, visualization, investigation, and
adventure, we will explore the world of kid's yoga. Each week, we will
involve all of our senses as we journey the universe, use our imaginations
and move our bodies in different yoga poses. We will learn more about who we
are, and grow and strengthen our unique capabilities.
The class is designed to facilitate an understanding of breath work, the
body and movement in space, and develop relaxation skills. The group setting
targets communication and social skills development.
Two teachers will run the program. Julie Coopersmith is certified through a
500 teacher training yoga program as well as other completed coursework in
yoga. She currently teaches yoga to children of all needs, and to adults as
well as seniors. Marianna Farrell is Montessori certified and has over 17
years teaching experience in the field. Additionally, both are certified
through the nationally recognized program Yoga Ed. The Yoga Ed curriculum is
specifically designed to address the developmental needs of the whole child,
and offers yoga as a method to understand, deepen, care for and develop
ourselves, and love who we are.
The program will run for 8 consecutive weeks, starting Monday Sept 22 and
going through November 10th, 4:15-5:15. Cost for the series is $120.00.
Deadline to sign up is Monday Sept 15.
